Responsibilities
At Old Vineyard Behavioral Health Services, we are helping to create brighter, healthier futures for our patients and their families. We are the Piedmont Triad's only private psychiatric hospital meeting the chemical dependency illnesses and behavioral healthcare needs of those in our community. Our 164‑bed inpatient service offers comprehensive assessments, psychiatric evaluation and medication stabilization, daily group therapy and personalized aftercare planning.
We are passionate about our work and are looking for individuals who share in this passion. We are currently seeking a Maintenance Technician to join our talented and caring team.
Position Duties- Responsible for general repairs and maintenance for the facility using knowledge and skills in painting, carpentry, electrical, plumbing, HVAC, etc.
- Perform ongoing inspections of buildings and grounds for safety concerns.
- Maintain facility grounds, including parking lot cleanliness, snow preparation and removal, trimming bushes and hedges, ensuring clear walkways.
- Prepare facility for special functions, including setting up tables, chairs and equipment.
- Respond in a timely manner to alarms and codes in accordance with safety and security policies and procedures.
- Repair and maintain HVAC equipment.
- Complete work orders in a timely manner, ensuring work order is closed out through the Worx Hub system.
- Complete preventative maintenance and inspections per documented schedule.
- Perform a variety of driving responsibilities including picking up needed supplies at local vendor locations, delivery and pickup of items to/from off‑site storage, delivery of equipment and supplies throughout campus, and staff transportation during inclement weather events or other hospital‑determined emergencies.
- Comply with facility safety, infection control and security program.
- Participate in all required training and in‑service programs for the position.
- Participate in activities which enhance professional growth and development.
- Participate in on‑call rotation (once every 4 weeks).
General Requirement
- Must be at least 21 years of age.
Education
- High School Graduate or equivalent.
Experience
- Minimum three years’ experience in facility maintenance within healthcare or property management field.
Licensure/Certification
- Current NC Driver's License with a good driving record as verified by the NC Department of Public Safety.
Skills
- Electrical, mechanical, plumbing, and air conditioning repair and maintenance.
- Safety and general hospital operations.
- Knowledge of tools.
- Availability for 24‑hour on‑call responsibility.
- Experience driving safely in ice/snow conditions.
- Independent work with minimum supervision.
Physical Requirements
- Climbing, ability to ascend and descend ladders, stairs, scaffolding, ramps, using feet, legs, hands and arms.
- Ability to maintain equilibrium to prevent falling when walking, standing or crouching on narrow, slippery or erratically moving surfaces.
- Stooping, bending downward and forward; kneeling; ability to come to rest on one or both knees.
- Reaching, extending hands and arms in any direction.
- Standing for sustained periods of time.
- Work is considered heavy and requires exerting in excess of 100 lbs. of force occasionally and/or in excess of 20 lbs. of force constantly to move objects.
- Ability to safely operate a motor vehicle to perform tasks as assigned.
