The NC Department of Adult Correction is one of the largest state agencies with more than 14,000 employees. It is responsible for safeguarding and preserving lives and property through prevention, protection, and preparation as well as the care, custody, and supervision of all adults sentenced for violating North Carolina laws. This department includes state prisons with custody, healthcare, and facility operations staff as well as probation/parole officers who supervised sentenced people in the community.
Other divisions include Administration, Health Services, Rehabilitation & Reentry, Special Operations and the Post-Release Supervision & Parole Commission. We have a mission that matters!
This position reports to the Correctional Programs Director and functions in the Programs section at a minimum custody male correctional facility. This position provides transitional and re-entry programs and oversees rehabilitation programming for offenders. This position’s responsibilities include, but are not limited to, the following:

- Documented knowledge of supportive counseling techniques and/or interviewing techniques for intake assessment
- Documented knowledge of services available to individuals from the community and other public and private programs.
- Documented 12 months (1 year) of correctional program experience.

This is a full-time position (40 hours per week) with established working hours of Monday-Friday, 8am-5pm and may require working beyond normal work schedule to meet business need.
