Please note:

This position will be primarily based at the Winston-Salem location, but may be needed at Greensboro or High Point locations based on coverage needs. Specifics of this can be negotiated based on preference.

Core Responsibilities
  • Patient rooming, in-clinic support, supply management, patient tracking, triage/inbasket management, coaching visits, patient education
  • Will support clinic operations & patient care for medical & surgical weight management patients. Will also support general surgery patients seen at our location (i.e. consults, post-op appointments).
  • No procedures or complex care provided at ambulatory site.
Pay Range

$24.10 - $36.15

Major Responsibilities
  • Prepares and rooms the patient for exam by obtaining vital signs and documenting/updating pertinent health information.
  • Performs laboratory procedures using principles of aseptic technique and standard precautions.
  • Assists the physician/provider with procedures and surgeries (e.g., pelvic exams, allergy testing, EMG, cautery, colposcopy).
  • Administers medications under orders, including immunizations, antibiotics, pain medications, vitamins, topical agents, and insulin. With limitations, initiates, maintains and discontinues IV therapy as appropriate.
  • Provides basic patient education and coordinates follow-up, prescriptions, and referrals as directed.
  • Communicates with physicians and other health care team members; documents accurate and timely information.
  • Performs advanced clinical tasks under supervision (e.g., removal of sutures/staples, catheterization, audiograms, phlebotomy, EKG, spirometry, Holter monitor application, casting, wound care).
  • Organizes and maintains exam rooms, labs, and work areas; performs patient positioning and transporting with safe techniques.
  • Completes routine maintenance and quality monitoring of clinic equipment and instruments.
  • Participates in patient-centered initiatives, care management, and quality improvement activities.
  • Demonstrates age-specific care knowledge and ability to assess data reflective of the patient’s status per department policies.
Licensure, Registration, And/or Certification Required
  • Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) license issued by the state in which the team member practices.
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) for Healthcare Providers certification issued by the American Heart Association (AHA) to be obtained within 45 days unless exempt.
Education Required
  • Completion of an accredited or approved program in Practical Nursing.
Experience Required
  • No experience required.
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities Required
  • Excellent communication (written and verbal) and interpersonal skills; ability to develop rapport with patients, staff, and physicians.
  • Excellent organization, prioritization and problem solving skills.
  • Proficient computer skills including keyboarding, Windows navigation, and use of electronic medical records systems.
Physical Requirements And Working Conditions
  • Must be able to sit, stand, walk, lift, squat, bend, twist, crawl, kneel, climb, and reach above shoulders.
  • Lift up to 50 lbs; push/pull with 30 lbs of force; ability to transfer 150 lbs with assistance.
  • Exposure to mechanical, electrical, chemical hazards and blood/body fluids; wear PPE as needed.
  • Functional speech, vision, hearing, and fine-hand manipulation skills; operates all job-essential equipment.
