This opportunity is for full-time (40 hours per week) Staff/Nurse Educator. The position offers full benefits and a convenient schedule of Monday through Friday business hours.

Our 164-bed inpatient services for adolescents through senior adulthood offers comprehensive and individual assessments, psychiatric evaluation and medication stabilization, daily group therapy and personalized aftercare planning. We also offer a Partial Hospitalization and Intensive Outpatient Treatment Program to ensure the continuum of care for our patients. Old Vineyard is accredited by The Joint Commission and certified by the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services.

Full-Time
We are currently seeking a Staff/Nurse Educator to join our talented and caring team. Our ideal candidate will possess strong multitasking skills, great communication skills with the ability to engage positively with patients, staff, families, providers, etc., must work well under pressure with several competing priorities and maintain professional at all times.
The Staff/Nurse Educator is responsible for developing, coordinating and conducting of clinical and facility-wide staff education. Provides education and training to staff based on requirements established by Joint Commission, State and Federal guidelines, as well as those recommended by management/QI findings which will enable staff to maintain and improve required levels of knowledge and skills to perform their jobs. Under supervision by the Infection Preventionist, the Staff/Nurse Educator also acts in the role of Infection Control Nurse and coordinates the Infection Control program in collaboration with the interdisciplinary Safety/Infection Control Committee.

EducationGraduate of an accredited school of professional nursing. BSN preferred.
ExperienceRequires five (5) years experience as a Registered Nurse. Requires two (2) years experience as a Nurse/Staff Educator. Prefer one (1) year experience in psychiatric nursing. Knowledge of current nursing procedures, the nursing process, medications and their correct administration.
Licensure/CertificationCurrent NC State Registered Nurse (or compact state)
AHA CPR & First Aid
Knowledge and Skills- Leadership, supervision, facilitation and direction to RNs and Mental Health Technicians
- Ability to assess, plan, implement, and evaluate patient care and the milieu
- Knowledge of model age, growth, and developmentally appropriate therapeutic communication in all interactions
- Ability to administer medication & treatment as prescribed and document properly
- Ability to document nursing care and treatment progression through timely & accurate chart entries & nursing care plan updates
- Knowledge of Treatment Plan, and special treatment procedures
