Position: Travel RN - Cath Lab - Electrophysiology (EP)
American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Cath Lab Electrophysiology (EP) position with required EP procedure scrub experience and advanced cardiac certifications.

Job Details

• Work in the Electrophysiology Lab of a hospital-based, Level 1 Trauma and Academic Medical Center,

• Handles a patient population with cardiac arrhythmias requiring procedures such as ablations, CRM device implantation, and laser lead extractions,

• Performs 15-20 EP cases per day, utilizing specialized equipment including CARTO 3D Mapping, Rhythmia, Cryo, and advanced x-ray technology,

• Schedules are 10-hour variable day shifts ), four days per week, Monday through Friday,

• Weekend rotation includes working 3-4 Saturdays in an 8-10 week period and 3-5 late days per month to finish cases as needed,

• EPIC/Cupid EMR is used in the department,

Job Requirements

• Active NC or compact state RN license required,

• Minimum of 2 years recent experience in an Electrophysiology Lab with direct scrub experience on required procedures (ablations, CRM devices, LAAO); laser lead extraction scrub experience preferred,

• Current BLS and ACLS certifications required,

• Ability to perform tasks including scrub, circulate, documentation, sterile technique, hemodynamic monitoring, airway management during nurse-led sedation, arterial/venous sheath management, advanced arrhythmia care, and temporary pacemaker insertion,

• Experience working with EPIC/Cupid EMR preferred,

Additional Information

• Role involves providing direct RN support in complex EP procedures, including ablations, cardioversions, pericardiocentesis, 3D mapping, radiation safety, and moderate sedation,

• Collaborates with a multidisciplinary team including physicians, fellows, anesthesia staff, and technical vendors,

• Requires wearing surgical green scrubs provided by the hospital,

• Closed on select major holidays, with potential for limited on-call only around Thanksgiving and Christmas,

• Free parking is available in close proximity to the work area,

• Department culture is patient-focused, team-oriented, and excellence-driven in a teaching-oriented environment,

• Two-day departmental orientation provided upon start,

• First-time travelers may be considered depending on EP experience level,

• Requests for time off require manager approval,
