• Unit Information:
o Beds: 22
• Average census 21
o Minimum Years of Experience required? 1 year
o Will you accept a first-time traveler? Yes, with CT surgery experience
• Patient Types/Common Diagnoses:
o CABG, Valve replacement/repair, LVADs, Heart transplant, AAA repair, Carotids, Thoracic Outlet
• Patient Ratios:
o RN: 1:3-5, acuity dependent
o CNA: 1:11
• Required Licensure & Certifications:
o BLS, ACLS, NIHSS - Resource Team requirement
o PCCN - preferred
• Skills required:
o Cardiology experience is required - cardiac post procedural experience of the following: CABG, Valve replacement/repair, LVADs, Heart transplant, AAA repair, Carotids, Thoracic Outlet
o Cardiac Rhythm Interpretation
o Titrating and Non-titrating cardiac drips
• Support within the Department:
o CNA
o Unit Secretary
o Charge nurse - may or may not have patients
o Phlebotomy
o IV/VAT Team? No
o Rapid Response Team
o RT 24/7
o Hospitalist 24/7
o Intensivist 24/7
o Telemetry monitoring/tech - RN will interpret cardiac strips
