Staff Nurse II - Joint Replacement Unit & Bariatrics - $6000 Sign On Bonus

Full‑time position.

Major Duties

Registered Nurse to work in a 16‑bed Bariatric Surgery/Discharge Unit. Must be able to utilize the nursing process to provide patient/family centered care, maintain a safe therapeutic and healing environment, and communicate effectively throughout the continuum of care. This unit operates Monday through Friday.

Essential Functions
  • Utilizes the nursing process to provide patient/family centered care focusing on the physical, emotional, spiritual, cultural, religious, and environmental needs. Includes assessment, development of nursing diagnoses, outcome identification, planning, implementation of interventions, coordination of care, health teaching and promotion, and evaluation of goals and interventions consistent with the policies of WFBMC.
  • Maintains a safe, therapeutic, and healing environment through ensuring patient privacy and responsive, respectful and professional behavior; uses and promotes the use of technology and equipment to enhance safety.
  • Communicates effectively to promote sharing of information throughout the continuum of care and as an effective member of the healthcare team.
  • Demonstrates ability to function in a professional setting through active participation in a professional practice model, shared governance, adherence to standards of care, peer review, professional development, leadership, clinical excellence, team skills, autonomous practice, and accountability.
  • Acts as a patient advocate throughout the continuum of care across all patient settings and in the community.
  • Coordinates the efficient delivery of patient care services via care management principles, identifies clinical priorities and initiates actions to improve patient outcomes.
  • Demonstrates participation in shared governance, promotes a healthy work environment, and accepts personal responsibility for professional growth.
  • Education and Experience

    Graduation from an accredited school of nursing. BSN preferred.

    Licensure, Certification and/or Registration

    RN licensure in NC required. Basic Cardiac Life Support (BCLS) required. Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) or Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) may be required within one year in select areas.
