Location: Arbor Acres Winston Salem – Winston Salem, NC 27104
Position Type: Full Time
Salary Range: $27.50 – $32.75 per hour
Shift: 7p – 7a, 3/4 days per week, Every Other Weekend

Responsibilities
  • Provide nursing care to residents in Assisted Living, Memory Care, and Skilled departments.
  • Deliver care in accordance with physicians' orders and recognized nursing techniques and procedures.
  • Develop rapport with residents, building excellent relationships.
  • Direct, instruct, coach, correct, and discipline RAs and Medical Unit Secretaries to assure team effectiveness.
  • Verify resident identity before administering medication, mix or assemble drugs, and record administration on the MAR.
  • Document effectiveness of PRN drug on the MAR.
  • Maintain up-to-date medical records of care given, including reasons for non‑administration of prescribed drugs.
  • Assist with assessment of resident needs, admissions, discharges, and transfers as necessary.
  • Collect and communicate information on resident conditions.
  • Ensure accountability for controlled drugs and report supply needs to appropriate personnel.
  • Dress wounds, give enemas and douches, apply hot and cold compresses as needed.
  • Operate EKG, suctioning equipment, and O2 equipment; obtain specimens for laboratory; perform venipuncture.
  • Perform duties and tasks assigned by the Director of Nursing or other authorized supervisor.
Typical Physical Demands
  • Lift without mechanical assistance up to 30 lbs.
  • Push residents, up to 200 lbs., into a wheelchair.
  • Turn, bend, stoop, and stretch to assist patients/residents.
  • Stand and walk for extended periods.
  • Successfully complete the WorkSTEPS Functional Testing program.
Key Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
  • Strong verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to read, write, and speak fluently in English.

  • Bilingual ability is a plus.
Minimum Education & Certification
  • Graduation from an accredited LPN or RN program approved by the North Carolina Board of Nursing.
  • License to practice nursing as a Licensed Practical Nurse or Registered Nurse in North Carolina.
  • Valid and active North Carolina Driver’s license.
