Job Overview

RN-Registered Nurse – Med Surg / Telemetry. 12‑hour day shifts (7 a.m.–7 p.m.), 3 days per week. 13‑week contract starting 8/03/2026, onsite at Winston‑Salem, NC.

Weekly stipend: $1,246. Base pay: $13/hour ($468 weekly). Additional stipends as per contract.

• Shift: 12-hour day shift.
• Schedule:
  
  7 a.m.–7 p.m., 3 days/week.
• Weekend rotation: end of week.
• Holiday requirement:
  Travelers will work 75% of holidays.
• No on‑call or callback requirements.
• Floating:
  Region 1.

• Location:
  
  Winston‑Salem, NC.
• Capacity: 885 licensed beds.
• Level 1 Trauma designation.
• Academic medical center and teaching hospital.
• Chest Pain Center.
• Stroke Center.

• Bed count: 29.
• Minimum experience:
  
  2 years in MST (medical‑surgical tour).
• First‑time travelers accepted based on experience and a strong MST background.
• Patient mix:
  General medicine—DM, GI, respiratory, renal, wound care, chest tube, tracheostomy, lab draws.

• RN : 1:5–6.
• CNA : 1:9–10.

• BLS required.

• Direct and indirect patient care; strong interpersonal communication.
• Team collaboration; solid written and oral communication.
• Ability to handle moderate‑to‑high stress.
• Experience reading telemetry strips.
• Chest tubes, tracheostomies, PIV placement, drain and tube management, PCA pumps.
• IV infusion management – Amiodarone (occasionally), Fentanyl PCA, Ketamine PCA, Dilaudid PCA, Heparin.

• CNA – basic nursing care and assistance.
• Receptionist/HUC.
• Charge nurse.
• Phlebotomy – shared responsibility.
• Rapid Response Team.
• RT, Hospitalist, Intensivist – 24/7 support.
• Telemetry monitoring/tech – centralized telemetry.

• EMR:
  Epic.
• IV pump:
  Alaris.
• Medication dispensing:
  Omnicell.
• Floating locations (if applicable): 8 North, 9 North A/B, ACE, 9 Ardmore, 10 Ardmore, 8 North‑B, 8 Ardmore.

• NEO orientation.
• 2 days departmental orientation.

• Scrubs:
  Royal Blue.
