of Work

We are currently recruiting for a Nurse Supervisor II to function as a Clinical Nurse Manager at Central Regional Hospital (CRH) on the Screening and Admissions Unit (SAU). The primary purpose of SAU is to actively collaborate with all customers to ensure patients are processed in a safe manner, referrals are processed accurately, and divert admissions that are clinically or legally inappropriate.

The position is to provide psychiatric mental‑health care and direct supervision to other licensed and non‑licensed staff. This care includes the assessment/treatment of actual or potential mental and medical conditions. The role also assists the Associate Chief Nursing Officer (ACNO) and performs general administrative duties for SAU such as planning, organizing, managing daily operations, quality assurance, Human Resource Management functions, and training.

Responsibilities
  • Lead and supervise licensed and non‑licensed nursing staff in the SAU.
  • Provide psychiatric mental‑health care and assessment/treatment of patients.
  • Collaborate with patients, families, and interdisciplinary teams to ensure safe patient processing.
  • Manage daily operations, quality assurance, and administrative tasks for the unit.
  • Assist the Associate Chief Nursing Officer in strategic planning and reporting.
  • Coordinate training and development for unit staff.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Ability to implement the nursing process to meet patient needs, staff assignments, and commitment processes.
  • Excellent leadership and interpersonal skills with a professional, caring approach.
  • Strong coordination, collaboration, and communication with internal and external customers.
  • Ability to advise and counsel employees on job performance and conduct.
  • Knowledge of EPIC, specifically the transfer center and SAU admission process.
Physical Requirements
  • Pass CPR and protective interventions (NVCI).
  • Ability to lift, kneel, walk up and down stairs.
  • Valid driver’s license required.
Other Employment Details
  • Full‑time position with Monday‑Friday, 8am‑5pm hours, with some rotation, holidays, and 24‑hour responsibility as needed.
  • Includes flexibility in work schedule to meet hospital needs.
  • Position is Exempt from certain provisions of the State Human Resources Act (GS126).
  • Position required to report or stay over during adverse weather events.
Compensation & Benefits

Salary: $77,076.00 – $

Sign‑on bonus of $10,000 may be offered, contingent on 2025‑2026 budget approval.

Eligible for full State benefits package: health insurance, retirement, and other benefits.

Sign‑On Bonus Eligibility
  • Newly hired permanent full‑time or part‑time employee must work 30 to 40 hours per week.
  • Eligibility is prorated for employees working less than 40 hours per week.
  • Ineligible if previously held a North Carolina State government position within the last 12 months.
  • Ineligible if previously received a sign‑on bonus from any State agency.
  • Ineligible if the employee has received a State placement or recruitment fee.
  • All sign‑on bonuses contingent upon budget and final eligibility determination as of the effective date of hire.
