Reports to:
Vice President of Health and Wellness.
Supervises:
Clinical LPNDuties and Responsibilities Manages the operation of the resident clinic as the clinic nurse. Provides clinical expertise and guidance to insure quality nursing care to residents. Supervises and schedules the Clinical Assistant.
Assesses needs of Independent and Assisted Living residents and completes assessment documents to help with the determination for acute treatment, temporary care placements and transfers between levels of care. Serves as a member of the Level of Care team.
Works closely with residents in transition to address care concerns and identify needed services.
Assists with the management of temporary care admissions and discharges. Monitors residents condition and reports to the Nursing Director, Physician and Resident Services Director.
Consults with Independent Living and Assisted Living I residents about health concerns and functional ability and provides case management in conjunction with Resident Services. Educates residents about available health services, including in-home services. Coordinates procedures/tests and obtains results/reports.
Provides leadership to the development and future operation of the clinic. Works to build a positive perception among residents regarding all health services.
Participates in Leadership team meetings for the nursing department and assures a campus-wide approach to the delivery of nursing care. Participates in the Nursing Administration on-call rotation.
Supervises transcription and verification of physicians orders for Independent and Assisted Living I residents. Maintains timely and accurate documentation of employee and resident records.
Monitors/Assists with medication administration and treatment.
Responsible for employee health vaccinations and screenings, including TB testing and screening and Hepatitis B vaccinations.
Provides basic first aide and assessments of work related injuries and coordinates care to outside healthcare agencies.
Assists in the coordination of the health fair for both residents and employees.
Serves as the emergency nurse responder for independent residents M-F 8:00 a.m.
-4:30p.m. Assesses and provides appropriate emergency care as needed.
Participates in the interviewing, orientation and disciplinary guidance of nursing personnel while participating in the manager-on-call rotation.
Provides clinical services as defined in the RN/LPN job description.
Counsels and confers with residents and families regarding health and daily living.
Follows up on emergency nurse responses on a daily basis as assigned and updates MD, DON and/or Resident Services Director.
Complies with professional and regulatory standards.
Typical Physical Demands Frequent walking, bending, stretching, lifting of 30 lbs, pushing, carrying.
Must be able to hear spoken word and medical equipment.
Able to see to read newsprint size letters.
Possible exposure to: airborne particles, blood-borne pathogens, odors, toxic chemicals/fumes.
Ability to drive a car.
Ability to walk up to 20 minutes at a time in order to transverse campus.
Must be able to successfully complete the WorkSTEPS Functional Testing program. This program assists in determining whether applicants/employees are able to safely perform essential job functions.

Minimum Education Graduate of an approved School of Nursing.
Minimum Experience Five years experience in resident/patient care.
At least one year of experience in a long-term care setting or a physicians office.
License and/or Certification Required Licensed, in good standing, to practice nursing as an RN/LPN in the state of North Carolina.
Must have valid North Carolina Drivers License, demonstrated safe driving record
