American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for a Neonatal ICU position requiring 2 years of NICU experience and a NC or compact RN license.

Intensive Care Nursery unit within a Level 1 Trauma academic medical center - Cares for patients ranging from 23-week gestation to term infants
- Handles surgical needs such as NEC and CDH
- Unit average daily census of 71
- Support includes NAs at a 1:20 ratio and 2 Charge RNs per shift
- Uses EPIC EMR system
- 12-hour day shift schedule, 0630 start, 36 hours per week
- Every other weekend (EOW) rotation required
- No on-call or call-back requirements
- Floating required to General Pediatrics, PICU, Adolescent Pediatrics, and Pediatric Hem/Onc
- Active RN license (NC or Compact)
- Current BLS and NRP certification required
- Minimum 2 years of NICU experience required
- Recent core experience within the specialty area within the last year
- Skilled in basic vent management, central line management, and pre/post-surgical care
- Experience with tracheostomy care, G-tube management, and gavage feeding
- Basic breastfeeding and bottle feeding skills required
- Experience with blood transfusion and infant venous stick procedures
- EPIC EMR experience preferred
- Last 4 digits of SSN and full date of birth required for consideration
- At least 1 professional reference dated within the past year from a Supervisor, Manager, Director, or Charge RN
- Provide direct nursing care to critically ill neonates including surgical and pre/post-operative patients
- Work within a Level 1 Trauma, academic teaching hospital setting
- Complete facility NEO orientation plus 2 days of departmental orientation
- Scrub color requirement:
Royal Blue - Free parking available on-site
- Holiday coverage required for 75% of designated holidays
- First-time travelers are welcome to apply
- Candidates must live outside a 50-mile radius of the facility to be eligible
- Previous employees must have been separated from any Advocate Health Southeast facility for at least 1 year following a permanent position before being eligible to return
