Job Description

Join our team as a Pediatric Post-Anesthesia Care Unit (PACU) nurse in Winston‑Selam, where you’ll be part of an established academic medical center that handles a wide range of pediatric surgical patients. This 20‑bay unit primarily cares for children aged 0–17, with occasional adult patients, offering a fast‑paced environment where teamwork and resourcefulness are essential. You’ll manage post‑operative pediatric patients, including those on infusion gtts like heparin and insulin, and handle ventilated children who are transferred directly to the ICU.

The role requires prior pediatric critical care experience, with a focus on working in an all‑hands‑on‑deck, open‑bay setting. Your responsibilities will include monitoring pediatric patients with telemetry, managing medications, and collaborating with anesthesia, transporters, and the PACU educator to ensure seamless recovery transitions. This assignment provides a unique opportunity to refine your skills in a specialized pediatric setting while working with a dedicated staff in a hospital that features a Level 1 Trauma designation and comprehensive stroke and chest pain centers.

The shifts are scheduled for 12‑hour days over a 13‑week contract, offering stability and the chance to make a meaningful impact on young patients’ recoveries.
