American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for an Emergency Department position requiring a NC or compact license and a minimum of 2 years of ER experience.
Details- Work in the Emergency Department of a regional referral and tertiary care center serving all populations
- 26-week contract assignment
- Night shift, 12-hour shifts (18:45-07:15), 3x12 schedule
- 36 hours per week can be offered
- Patient ratios of 1:3-5 with approximately 250 visits per day in a 101-bed facility
- Floating required between the Emergency Observation Unit and Emergency Behavioral Health based on need
- Weekend requirement of at least 4 weekend days per 6-week schedule, up to every other weekend
- Unit systems include Pyxis, EPIC, SBAR, and daily shift huddles
- 24-hour unit orientation provided
- Active RN license (NC or Compact) required
- Minimum 2 years of ER experience required
- Previous charge nurse experience required
- Certifications required: ACLS, BLS, MOAB, NIHSS, PALS
- TNCC certification preferred
- Epic EMR charting experience required
- Skills required:
IV starts, triage, and cardiac telemetry monitoring - Must be able to pass EKG testing prior to start
- Experience with psychiatric emergencies, respiratory support, IV therapy, emergency medications, and EKG/ECG interpretation preferred
- First-time travelers will be considered
- Provide emergency nursing care across a general adult/pediatric combined ED at a STEMI and Stroke Certified facility
- Responsibilities include cardiac monitoring, dysrhythmia management, multisystem organ dysfunction care, and 12-lead EKG acquisition
- Navy/white scrubs required
- Local candidates within 50 miles accepted at a lower pay rate
- Former Novant Health or New Hanover PERM/PRN/EP employees must wait 12 months before applying and must disclose employment history for facility approval
- Current travel per diem clinicians must choose between travel or per diem status and cannot hold both
- Travel pairs are allowed if placed on different units and disclosed at submission
- RTO of up to 7 days can be auto-approved as long as it does not fall on a holiday; additional RTO requires facility approval
- No RTO permitted during the first week of the assignment
- Must work 2 of the 3 major holidays
