Registered Nurse – Orthopedic

Schedule:

12-hour nights

Assignment Details:

• Contract Length:
  Minimum 13 weeks

Requirements:

• Minimum 2 years clinical RN experience
• Orthopedic experience required
• Epic experience preferred for first-time travelers
• Licensure: NC or compact pending acceptable for submittal
• Required certifications: BLS (BCLS), NIHSS

Roles & Responsibilities:

• Provide nursing care to patients in the orthopedic, neuro-spine, med-surg, and post-surgical populations.
• Monitor and manage post-operative pain, including the use of patient-controlled analgesia (PCA).
• Administer medications and treatments as prescribed and assess patient responses.
• Collaborate with the interdisciplinary team to ensure comprehensive care.
• Educate patients and families regarding treatment plans and self-care post-discharge.
• Perform telemetry monitoring and IV starts as needed.

Compliance / Notes:

• Weekend requirement:
  Every other weekend required.
• RTO after booking is not allowed, and call-offs or additional RTO may result in cancellation.
• Must pass EKG testing prior to start.
• Pre-start modules expected (acute ~8–10 hours).
• Orientation: ~36 hours (48 hours may be offered).
