Registered Nurse – Intensive Care Unit Step-Down
Schedule:
Shift: 12-hour Nights Weekend requirement: every other weekend Hours options: 36 or 48 hours/week
Assignment Details:
Length: 13 weeks or longer Average Daily Census: ~18 patients
Requirements:
Minimum 2 years RN experience First-time travelers accepted Required certifications: ACLS, BLS/BCLS, NIHSS Must be comfortable with telemetry, dysrhythmia recognition/management, and vasoactive drips
Roles & Responsibilities:
Monitor and manage patients with unstable hemodynamics and respiratory distress. Administer and titrate vasoactive drips under guidance. Perform telemetry monitoring and recognize/manage dysrhythmias. Provide care for post-operative patients with complications. Assist in the management of central/PICC lines and administration of blood products. Participate in rapid response and code teams as necessary
Compliance / Notes:
Orientation: hospital orientation week one; attendance at classes each day required. Pre-approved time off: one per contract. Lab/testing: candidate must complete required lab/testing within 48 hours of signing. Flu vaccine required; medical/religious exemptions only
