Emergency Nurse – Emergency Department
Shift: 12-hour nights
- Weekend requirement:
Minimum 4 weekend days per 6-week time track; may be as frequent as every other weekend
Contract Length: 20–26 weeks

Hours:
36 hours per week
Minimum 2 years clinical experience
- Previous charge experience required
- Required certifications: ACLS, BCLS/BLS, NIH/NIHSS, PALS, MOAB
- Charting system experience:
Epic
- Key clinical skills: IV starts, triage, telemetry monitoring, 12-lead EKG acquisition/interpretation, emergency department procedures, management of behavioral crises
Provide comprehensive patient care in a high-acuity, high-volume emergency department setting
- Perform triage assessments and prioritize patient needs
- Monitor and interpret telemetry data for cardiac patients
- Administer medications and treatments as prescribed
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to ensure quality patient outcomes
- Manage behavioral health crises effectively
Orientation: 24 hours - RTO must be pre-approved; up to 7 days auto-approved (no holidays); no RTO during first week; must work 2 of 3 major holidays; additional RTO after signing generally not allowed; call-offs may result in cancellation or DNR
- Pre-start testing must be completed within 48 hours of signing - COVID-19 vaccine is not required; flu vaccine required (medical/religious exemptions allowed) - Licensure: NC or Compact license pending approval for submittal
