Preoperative PACU Registered Nurse

This PRN nursing role involves providing care in both the post-anesthesia care unit (PACU) and pre-operative departments, with responsibilities including comprehensive patient assessments, initiating IV access, administering medications, and managing post-operative symptoms such as pain and nausea. The nurse prepares patients for surgery through education on procedures and recovery expectations, monitors vital signs, airway, respiratory, and circulatory status, and performs ongoing assessments to identify and respond to complications.

Qualifications include a current RN license in the appropriate state,
graduate of an accredited nursing program
, and one year of relevant experience preferred. Prior experience in PACU, pre-op, or ICU/critical care is required. The role offers flexible shifts, primarily M-F, with options for various start times based on unit needs.
