RN - Infusion
About the FacilityHematology and Oncology Outpatient Clinic
Located on the 3rd floor of the Cancer Center, with infusion services on one side and provider/exam rooms on the other
Unit Information- 60 infusion chairs
- Average daily patient census: 125
- Minimum experience required: 1 year in oncology/infusion setting
- First-time travelers are accepted
- All types of cancer patients
- Adult patients
Ratios vary by assigned pod but will not exceed 1:4
Required Licenses and Certifications- BLS certification
- Chemo/Biotherapy certification
- Administration of anti-neoplastic agents
- Port access and IV start skills
- Knowledge of chemotherapy and immunotherapy side effects and their management
- Leadership:
Manager and Supervisor - Registered Nurses (RNs)
- Licensed Practical Nurses (LPNs)
- Medical Assistants (MAs)
- Physicians (MDs)
- On-site laboratory services
- On-site radiology services
Electronic Medical Record system: EPIC/Encompass
Floating
No floating required
Orientation- New Employee Orientation (NEO)
- Typically one week of unit-specific orientation
- No weekend rotation
- No on-call duties
- Facility closed on holidays
- Shift hours:
Monday through Friday, 8:30 AM to 5:00 PM
- Scrub color:
