American Traveler is hiring an RN for a Med/Surg Tele position at a Level 1 Trauma academic medical center, requiring at least 1 year of experience and NC or compact RN licensure.

• 12-hour night shift ), 36 hours per week
• Med/Surg overflow unit with 8 beds and average daily census of 8
• RN to patient ratio of 1:4, CNA ratio of 1:8
• Patient population includes general medical, cardiac, pneumonia, UTI, chest pain, and fluid overload cases
• Uses Epic EMR, Alaris IV pumps, and Omnicell medication dispensing
• Telemetry monitors present on the unit; RNs responsible for reading/interpreting rhythm strips
• Support staff includes CNAs, HUC/receptionist, charge nurse, 24/7 RT and hospitalist/intensivist coverage, and phlebotomy for peripheral draws
• EOW weekend rotation required
• No on-call or call-back requirements
• Floating required to Rehab, 4 Ardmore, 10 Reynolds, 9 Reynolds, 5 Ardmore, Burn-10 North, and Throughput Unit

• Active RN license (NC or Compact) required
• Current BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS certifications required
• Minimum 1 year of recent core Med/Surg Tele experience required
• Skills in PCA management, surgical drains, wound care, and telemetry/cardiac rhythm interpretation required
• Experience with Cardizem/Amiodarone drips preferred but not required if comfortable learning
• Epic EMR experience preferred
• Last 4 digits of SSN and full DOB required for consideration
• At least 1 professional reference dated within the past year from a Supervisor, Manager, Director, or Charge RN required

• Provide direct patient care for general medical and cardiac step-down patients, including wound care, drain management, and telemetry monitoring
• Work within a Level 1 Trauma, academic teaching hospital with Chest Pain and Stroke Center designations
• Unit culture described as friendly and academic
• Orientation includes NEO and 2 days of departmental orientation
• Royal blue scrubs required
• Free parking available onsite
• Holiday coverage required for 75% of holidays
• Travel experience preferred, though first-time travelers may be considered
• Candidates must live outside a 50-mile radius to be eligible for travel pay
• Returning employees must be separated from any AHSE facility for at least 1 year following a permanent position
