Work as part of an Emergency Medicine team to improve outcomes for patients in a dynamic Emergency Department. In this role as an Emergency Medicine APP, you will work alongside EM Physicians, other EM APPs, and EM nurses and staff. Though APPs in this role will collaborate with and share all patients with physicians, autonomy is both encouraged and fostered. Our EM APPs will learn to manage acute and chronic conditions with increasing independent expertise and are encouraged to practice at the top of their license.
Although the focus of this role is primarily clinical, there will be Career Development opportunities with access to get involved in Education, Administration and Leadership. We are a 501c3 Non‑Profit, mission‑oriented health system proudly providing health care for all! APP post‑graduate experience is encouraged but not required. Our medical center is an 885‑bed tertiary care institution affiliated with the Wake Forest University School of Medicine.
Our emergency department is the premier emergency department in the region and a national leader in clinical care, education, and research. Our department, featuring a new state‑of‑the‑art facility, serves as a high‑volume, high‑acuity level I trauma center, burn center, stroke center, and STEMI center. With an annual volume exceeding 110,000 patient visits (combination of adult and pediatric), we address the full spectrum of human illness and injury.
Our collaborative provider team includes faculty attending physicians, emergency medicine and off‑service resident house officers, and advanced practice providers (APPs). Our APP team is exceptional, well‑respected, and fully integrated into all aspects of care delivery. Join our team of highly skilled and dedicated providers in our mission to provide compassionate care to all patients. Wake Forest EM is a great place to learn, develop, and grow.
