Overview
Ropes Course Facilitator. Ready to help others rise to new heights? If so, join Crossnore Communities for Children’s Miracle Heights Adventures team as a Ropes Course Facilitator. In this position, you’ll support group programming on our low and high ropes elements (up to 40 feet). You will be responsible for guiding participants through safety procedures, team-building initiatives, and experiential learning activities that foster growth, connection, and resilience.
This is a hands-on, physical role ideal for adventure educators, outdoor facilitators, and those passionate about helping others grow through challenge and collaboration.

Hiring Range: $17.50/hour
Pre-Hire Requirements- Successful completion of background checks and drug screening.
- Physical ability to meet the demands of the ropes course environment.
- Set up, facilitate, and break down low and high ropes elements.
- Lead safety demonstrations and ensure proper use of gear and equipment.
- Guide participants through experiential activities with pre-briefs, facilitation, and debriefs.
- Monitor participant safety and intervene if necessary, including facilitating rescues.
- Ensure ropes course equipment is in working order and perform regular inspections.
- Document group participation, incident reports, and paperwork accurately.
- Support diverse groups and provide inclusive, culturally responsive facilitation.
- Promote and model trauma-informed care using the Sanctuary Model.
- Certification or training in ropes course facilitation preferred (or willingness to be trained).
- Experience working with groups in outdoor or experiential learning environments.
- Knowledge of group dynamics and team facilitation techniques.
- CPR/First Aid certification preferred.
- Ability to stay calm and make sound decisions in high-pressure situations.
- Excellent communication, teamwork, and interpersonal skills.
- Passion for working with children and youth in a trauma-informed environment.
This position is physically demanding and requires the ability to:
- Work at heights up to 40 feet for extended periods.
- Lift up to 100 pounds and frequently carry up to 50 pounds.
- Climb, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, and crawl.
- Stand and walk for extended periods across uneven terrain.
- Work outdoors in various weather conditions, exposed to insects, dust, and noise.
- Use personal protective equipment such as gloves, safety shoes, ear protection, and harnesses.

There is a weight limit of 250 pounds for all high ropes elements.
