Sr. Park Assistant; Lead Aquatic Center​/Mallard Lake

General Statement of Duties

Forsyth County's Department of Parks and Recreation is looking to fill temporary part-time Sr. Park Assistants. This is a great opportunity to work outdoors at Mallard Lake and the Aquatic Center facility at Tanglewood Park.

• At the Aquatic Center: operate a cash register for entry to the pool and concession sales; put wristbands on paying pool patrons; check coolers; keep the pool lobby area/locker rooms clean; ensure pool patrons follow all rules and regulations.
• At Mallard Lake: assist patrons with rental of pedal boats; operate a cash register for the rental of boats and purchase concessions; monitor patrons on boats; keep the boats, dock, restrooms, and area clean at all times.
• Assist the Marketing & Events Manager and other Management Staff with scheduling seasonal employees, checking in groups, and communicating with lifeguard and maintenance staff as needed.
• Work shifts at both Mallard Lake and the Aquatic Center throughout the operational season.

This is a seasonal position May through September.

Working Weekends, Holidays, As Well As Weekdays Is REQUIRED.

• Knowledge of safety and other rules and regulations of the park.
• Ability to perform basic arithmetic calculations.
• Ability to deal tactfully and courteously with the public.
• Ability to follow simple oral and written instructions.
• Ability to maintain effective working relationships with other employees.

High School or GED graduation and one year of relevant experience. A valid driver's license is required. Previous experience in Parks and Recreation, Lifeguarding, CPR/AED and First Aid training are a plus. A higher education level may be considered as a substitution for all or part of the experience requirement.
