The Sr. Technician Agronomy supports agricultural research and development activities by assisting with the planning and execution of on-farm field trials, greenhouse operations, and plant science laboratory work. This role is responsible for collecting and managing samples, data, and research observations, coordinating laboratory sample submissions, and ensuring field and greenhouse supplies are maintained and readily available. The position also contributes to research documentation and reporting by preparing accurate summaries and final reports of trial results and project outcomes.
Your key responsibilities will include:
- Assist with planning and executing on-farm field trials and greenhouse research activities.
- Maintain an organized, clean, and efficient greenhouse and laboratory work environment.
- Collect, store, and manage research samples, data, and observations, including submitting samples for laboratory analysis.
- Coordinate with team members to ensure field and greenhouse supplies are ordered, stocked, and available when needed.
- Prepare and write final research reports summarizing findings and project outcomes.
What are we looking for?
- Ability to work outdoors for extended periods performing physically demanding tasks and travel overnight as needed (up to 10 nights annually).
- Valid ability to operate a personal or company vehicle and make sound decisions in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong organizational, verbal, and written communication skills with effective project and time management capabilities.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and related technology tools, with the ability to follow detailed instructions independently.
- High school diploma, associate degree, or bachelor's degree in Agronomy, Biological Sciences, Soil Science, Greenhouse Management, or a related field; ability to obtain a North Carolina Pesticide Ground Applicator License.
