UDA Quality Improvement and Compliance Specialist

As a Quality Improvement and Compliance Specialist at UDA, you are an important and valued member of our team. You will serve as a subject matter expert for OSHA compliance, infection safety and control, AAAHC compliance, and risk management. You will also directly provide administrative support to the UDA Doctor Group to ensure providers are credentialed, privileged, and audited according to the standards set by the group.

You will be the face of Quality, Improvement, and Clinical Excellence for UDA.

Responsibilities

To be successful in this role, a Quality Improvement and Compliance Specialist will need to be a leader in the group, ready to run an efficient and effective QI Program. This may include the following responsibilities:

  • Development and maintenance of risk management processes, increasing the value and success of the group's risk management program.
  • Coordination and oversight of radiation safety for all offices.
  • Management of the clinical chart auditing process, establishing and maintaining documentation on all audits.
  • Establishment of resolution, tracking, and reporting processes for patient complaints and grievances, waiver releases, and adverse events.
  • Routine completion of practice site visits with an emphasis on OSHA compliance, infection safety and prevention, and AAAHC standards.
  • Consistent reporting of findings from audits, practice visits, and studies completed at the group, accompanied by applicable recommendations for improvement.
  • Monitoring of the group's continuing education program with the identification of additional CE needs for clinical staff and coordination of CE events at the request of the UDA Doctor group.
  • Facilitation of Quality Improvement meetings and calls and thorough record keeping of corresponding meeting minutes.
  • Management of dental supply ordering processes and associated costs, approving supply orders according to guidelines set by the group.
  • Provision of training to all team members on policies and protocols related to Quality Improvement and Compliance.
  • Maintenance of all clinical and leadership employment files as well as tracking and reporting on all clinical certification requirements and pre-employment compliance requirements.
  • Dental assistant/hygienist classification and verification for newly hired clinical team members.
  • Development and facilitation of regular QI studies followed by effective reporting procedures and recommendations based on findings.
  • Preparation and oversight of constant site readiness for compliance inspections and surveys.
  • Coordination of provider's liability coverage and renewals.
  • Management of policies, protocols, and training related to equipment calibration and repairs.
  • Effective communication with providers, team members, and leaders within the group.
  • Oversight of all rework requests, conducting thorough reviews of clinical details and collaborating with UDA's Vice President of Clinical Affairs on findings and recommendations.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

What Skills and Experience Does a Successful UDA Quality Improvement Coordinator Have?

  • Regulatory and Accreditation expertise (AAAHC, OSHA, HIPAA, CDC)
  • Strong understanding of the North Carolina Dental Board rules and regulations
  • Ability to collect, analyze, and present quality metrics
  • Benchmarking against national standards and best practices in dentistry
