Family Intervention Specialist (Homebuilders Specialist)

Triad Region, NC
- Forsyth, Davie, Davidson, Yadkin, Surry, and Stokes counties. P rimarily in client homes with flexible work week, including evenings, weekends and holidays. M ust live within the assigned Region and
be available 24/7on-callto clients, with a supervisor providing back-up on-call support.
- HOMEBUILDERS® is the oldest, most studied evidence-based Intensive Family Preservation Service (IFPS) in the United States. Our Practitioners work with families involved with the child welfare system with the goal of removing the risk of harm to the child instead of removing the child. The program gives families the chance to learn new behaviors and helps them make better choices for their children.
Our Practitioners provide in-home counseling, prevention, crisis intervention, and life skills services to clients. - Our Practitioners work with children, birth to 17 years old, to support Placement Prevention for children who are at risk of out-of-home placement through DSS.
- Child safety is ensured through small caseloads and program intensity. Services are available 24 hours a day. Parent(s)/caregiver(s) meet with a Practitioner three to five times a week, for a total of approximately 40 hours, during a 4 to 6 week period.
- HOMEBUILDERS® at Crossnore currently maintains a success rate of 97.3%. As of March 2025, 36 out of 37 children have maintained placement with their permanent caregiver at the conclusion of services.
As a Homebuilders Specialist, you'll play a critical role in keeping families together and preventing children from entering foster care. Your commitment to the HOMEBUILDERS® model will allow you to serve families whose children are at imminent risk of placement, ensuring they receive intensive, in-home services. Through your support, you'll empower families to overcome challenges, promoting safety, stability, and positive change.
You’ll work closely with families, providing a mix of clinical and practical support, and advocating for the necessary services to keep families united.
HIRING RANGE: $43,500 to $51,000 annually

- Meets requirements for HOMEBUILDERS® standards which are one of the following:
- Graduate degree in human services or related field.
- Graduate student in the final year of their program, and at least one year of relevant clinical experience working with children and families.
- Bachelor degree in human services or related field, and at least two years of relevant clinical experience working with children and families.
- Commitment to the HOMEBUILDERS® model and demonstrated flexibility in various settings.
- Working knowledge of the state child welfare and mental health systems (strongly preferred).
- Strong ability to establish and maintain positive relationships with families, coworkers, and community collaborators.
- Excellent discretion and client confidentiality skills.
- Adaptive problem-solving skills, ability to manage crisis situations, and sensitivity to cultural issues that affect care.
- Professional interpersonal, communication, and organizational skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft and Google products, email, and other software programs.
- Sense of humor, creativity, and a willingness to learn from challenges.
