Forsyth County Department of Social Services is seeking an energetic, highly motivated person with great organizational, communication, and training skills as a Senior Child Support Agent for our Child Support Services Division.
- This person will conduct training for new hires and current staff that will include some virtual training and some in-person, over-the-shoulder support. The Sr. Child Support Agent develops and updates training materials as needed.
- The Sr. Child Support Agent is also responsible for covering vacant caseloads which can be in any of the functional areas – establishment, enforcement, intergovernmental, or office support.
- They train new employees to interact with custodial and non-custodial parents and other caretakers to establish and/or enforce Child Support payment agreements for the care of minor children.
- The position also involves frequent interaction with legal and judicial professionals, employers, county and state employees, as well as the general public.
- This position calls for the ability to work in a fast-paced, evolving environment and collaboration with the other members of the leadership team, including three other Sr. Child Support Agents.
Graduation from high school or GED and two years of experience in eligibility, investigative, judiciary, or legal work and one year in Child Support Enforcement.
A higher education level may be considered as a substitution for all or part of the experience requirement.
Valid driver's license required. The person in this position must be able to travel to and from the courthouse.
- Duties for this position include training employees on the following tasks as well as performing them: establishing paternity and support, enforcing civil orders, verifying employment and location of non-custodial parents, generating and sending wage with holdings, interception of state and federal income taxes, and other legal and administrative enforcement remedies.
- This position also involves giving testimony in court and verifying all information needed as well as training new employees to do these tasks.
- This position calls for daily use of and training on the use of the Automated Collection and Tracking System (ACTS), which is an online case management system.
- Effective typing and data entry skills are a must.
- Previous training experience is preferred.
