Description:
We are seeking a talented and experienced Senior Software Engineer to join a collaborative and high-performing development team on a long-term contract engagement. This role is 100% remote, with the requirement to work Eastern Time Zone business hours. As a Senior Software Engineer, you will be responsible for designing, developing, and enhancing desktop-based software applications using Microsoft technologies. You will collaborate closely with Product Owners and fellow engineers to deliver high-quality solutions, resolve production issues, and continuously improve system functionality.
This role is ideal for a self-motivated engineer who values clean code, thoughtful design, and teamwork within an Agile environment.
- Design, develop, and implement new features and software enhancements
- Analyze, troubleshoot, and resolve production issues and defects
- Collaborate with Product Owners to clarify requirements and expected outcomes
- Contribute to technical design discussions and propose creative solutions
- Develop tools, utilities, and best practices to improve team efficiency
- Utilize Azure Dev Ops for source control, task tracking, and CI/CD workflows
- Integrate third-party and partner services into existing applications
- Follow established coding standards, version control practices, and procedures
- Perform thorough unit and integration testing to ensure software quality
- Participate in Agile/Scrum ceremonies and iterative development cycles
- Work collaboratively within a cross-functional, team-oriented environment
- 4+ years of hands‑on experience developing in C# within a desktop environment (Win Forms or WPF)
- Strong expertise in object‑oriented programming and software design principles
- Experience with web services, including XML and JSON
- Solid understanding and application of design patterns
- Proven experience working in Agile/Scrum development environments
- Strong analytical, problem‑solving, and troubleshooting abilities
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- High attention to detail with a commitment to clean, maintainable code
- Experience with unit testing frameworks such as MSTest, NUnit, or xUnit
- Experience with WCF, NHibernate, and Windows Workflow
- SQL Server development or integration experience
- Exposure to multi‑tier or distributed system architectures
- Familiarity with Microsoft Azure or cloud‑based development environments
