Receiving Assistant - Temp

Full-time, Temporary - Reports to Inventory Control Manager

As a Receiving Assistant, you’ll check in incoming loads, enter them into our warehouse systems, and make sure products are ready to move into the freezer, cooler, or dry storage. Everything you handle will make a difference in someone's life.

• Check in all incoming product (donations, purchased items, TEFAP, mixed loads) and enter it into the inventory systems by case, item, or weight as required.
• Use Net Suite and WAERLinx to enter receiving data, print pallet tags, and release inventory for putaway.
• Print and attach pallet labels in the approved format so product is easy to find and track.
• Consolidate cases on pallets, re-stack, and re-wrap as needed to keep loads safe and stable.
• Release pallets to assigned bin locations or zones (freezer, cooler, dry) so putaway staff know exactly where items belong.
• Keep basic records and reports related to what came in, how much, and how it was recorded in the system.
• Follow all warehouse, food safety, and workplace safety rules, and help keep the dock and receiving area clean and organized.
• Jump in on other warehouse tasks as needed to keep product moving.

This role is a mix of data entry and hands‑on warehouse work: you’ll spend a lot of time at a standing workstation using a computer, plus time on the floor handling product.

• Inventory / Warehouse systems: Ee will train you; prior experience with any WMS or ERP is a plus. Any experience eith Net Suite moves you to the top!
• Basic computer tools: Email and simple spreadsheets or reports (Microsoft Office or similar) to review and share inventory information.
• Warehouse equipment: Manual pallet jacks and shrink wrap; experience with pallet jacks or forklifts is a plus.
• Scales and printers: Floor or pallet scales for weight-based receiving, and label/pallet tag printers at the receiving station.

• Experience in a warehouse, production, shipping/receiving, or similar environment is preferred, especially where you used scanners or an inventory system.
• Comfortable using a computer all day (typing, clicking through screens, entering numbers) and willing to learn software.
• Team player with a positive attitude who shows up on time and takes pride in doing things the right way.
• Strong attention to detail: matching paperwork to product, double-checking item numbers, counts, and weights.
• Basic math skills for counting cases, converting units, and reading scale weights accurately.
• Able to communicate clearly with supervisors, drivers, and warehouse teammates.

• Able to stand for most of the shift at a receiving station and on the warehouse floor.
• Able to walk, bend, stoop, squat, and reach frequently.
• Able to lift up to 60 pounds occasionally and move pallets with a pallet jack.
• Able to read and record scale weights, labels, and paperwork accurately in English.
• Comfortable working in different temperature zones (freezer, cooler, and dry areas).
