Leidos is seeking a Distribution Engineer to support utility and critical infrastructure clients within our Information Technology & Software-driven engineering teams. In this role, you will design, model, and analyze electric distribution systems using advanced engineering, GIS, and analytics tools. Responsibilities include preparing construction packages, performing load and reliability studies, supporting grid modernization and automation projects, and ensuring compliance with safety codes and standards.

You will collaborate closely with cross-functional Leidos experts in a mission-driven, customer-focused, and highly collaborative environment. Responsibilities

  • Design and model electric distribution systems using advanced engineering and GIS/IT tools
  • Perform load studies, protection coordination, and reliability analysis for utility networks
  • Prepare construction drawings, bills of materials, and technical documentation
  • Support grid modernization, automation, and smart grid technology deployments
  • Analyze field data and system performance to recommend system improvements
  • Collaborate with project managers, field crews, and utility clients on technical solutions
  • Ensure designs comply with safety codes, industry standards, and client specifications
  • Use distribution planning and outage management software to support operations
  • Participate in quality reviews, peer checks, and continuous process improvement
  • Support proposals, estimates, and technical presentations for new projects
