Job Summary

The Bid Manager is a strategic leader responsible for managing the entire bidding process to secure new contracts and business opportunities. They serve as a critical link between customers, management, and estimators. Core duties include analyzing RFPs for risk, coordinating cross-functional teams, maintaining compliance and quality standards, and post-submission activities.
Responsibilities- Analyze project scope:
Review blueprints, technical specifications, and other project documentation to understand the full scope of work. - Solicit and evaluate bids:
Collect and compare quotes from subcontractors and suppliers to ensure competitive pricing for all aspects of the project. - Collaborate with project teams:
Work closely with project managers, engineers, and clients to determine risk factors. Ensure thorough scoping and maintain strong contractual understanding for compliance. - Submit proposals:
Assemble all gathered data into a comprehensive and well-organized presentation of estimates and bid proposals for clients. Deliver bids as needed. - Identify and assess risks:
Factor potential project variables, such as weather delays, material shortages, or difficult site conditions, into the estimate.
Skills & Qualifications
- Experience:
3+ years in estimating, bid coordination, or related construction field. - Technical knowledge:
Strong understanding of construction methods and bid processes. - Software proficiency:
Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite. Knowledge of estimating/takeoff software is a plus (e.g., B2W, Planswift). - Analytical skills:
Excellent critical thinking and problem-solving abilities. - Communication:
Effective verbal and written communication skills to articulate information clearly. - Attention to detail:
Meticulous accuracy is required and the ability to manage multiple deadlines.
