The Senior Estimator is responsible for preparing accurate and comprehensive cost estimates for earthwork, roadway, drainage, and utility construction projects. This role works closely with project managers, engineers, owners, subcontractors, and suppliers to analyze bid documents, specifications, takeoffs, and pricing information to develop competitive and reliable project estimates. The Senior Estimator also supports quality assurance efforts, identifies cost‑saving opportunities, and helps ensure projects are aligned with company standards, timelines, and client requirements.

Responsibilities:
- Reviewing and understanding project specifications, blueprints, and other related documents.
- Managing multiple bids simultaneously and ensuring that all bids are submitted on time and within budget.
- Utilizing software such as Heavybid, Bluebeam, and AgTek to perform takeoffs and prepare cost estimates.
- Analyzing pricing data and providing accurate cost estimates for asphalt, grading, drainage, site development, roadway, utilities, and other construction elements.
- Ensuring all estimates meet DOT Standards and other relevant regulations.
- Working closely with project managers, engineers, and other team members to ensure project success.
- Participating in project bidding processes and presenting estimates to clients and stakeholders.
- Coordinating with suppliers and subcontractors to obtain quotes and prices.
- Continually updating knowledge on market trends, pricing, and construction processes.
Qualifications:
- A minimum of 5 years of experience in construction estimating or a related role.
- Proficiency in using estimation software such as Heavybid, Bluebeam, and AgTek.
- Strong knowledge of construction processes, materials, and legal regulations.
- Excellent numerical skills and an analytical mindset.
- Proven experience in managing multiple bids and delivering accurate cost estimates.
- Familiarity with DOT Standards.
- Ability to read and understand blueprints, technical documents, and contracts.
- Strong communication and negotiation skills.
- A degree in construction management, engineering, or a related field is preferred.
- Experience in asphalt, grading, drainage, site development, roadway, and utilities is essential.
- Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines.
- Detail‑oriented and excellent organizational skills.
