Project Manager – Heavy Civil Construction

Tucker Paving Inc. is a trusted leader in commercial paving, site development, underground utilities, and civil construction throughout Central Florida. We are looking for an experienced Project Manager to join our team and oversee multiple construction projects from planning through completion.

The ideal candidate will have strong experience managing heavy civil construction projects
, including site development, earthwork, underground utilities, paving, and coordination with owners, subcontractors, and field teams. This position requires a strong leader who can manage schedules, budgets, resources, and project execution while maintaining safety, quality, and customer satisfaction.

Position Summary

The Project Manager is responsible for planning, coordinating, and overseeing construction projects from start to finish. This position manages project schedules, budgets, resources, subcontractors, and client communication to ensure projects are completed safely, efficiently, on time, and within budget.

The Project Manager will work closely with field supervisors, estimators, clients, engineers, subcontractors, and internal teams to successfully execute projects while maintaining company standards and building strong customer relationships.

Responsibilities
  • Manage multiple construction projects from pre-construction through completion.
  • Develop and maintain project schedules, budgets, and project forecasts.
  • Monitor project costs, approve expenses, and identify opportunities for cost control.
  • Coordinate with owners, engineers, architects, subcontractors, vendors, and internal teams.
  • Review project plans, specifications, contracts, and construction documents.
  • Ensure compliance with project requirements, permits, building codes, and safety regulations.
  • Coordinate equipment, materials, subcontractors, and manpower needed to complete projects.
  • Work closely with field teams to ensure project schedules and production goals are achieved.
  • Track project progress and provide regular updates to management and stakeholders.
  • Identify potential project risks and develop solutions to address challenges.
  • Review and manage subcontractor agreements, schedules, and performance.
  • Ensure materials and equipment are available when needed to maintain project timelines.
  • Conduct project meetings and communicate expectations clearly with all parties involved.
  • Prepare project reports, documentation, and status updates.
  • Maintain strong relationships with clients and ensure customer satisfaction.
  • Handle unexpected challenges and make sound decisions to keep projects moving forward.
  • Follow company policies, procedures, and safety standards.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned.

Education and/or

Experience:

  • High school diploma or the equivalent. Bachelor's degree in a related field. (Preferred)
  • 3-5 years of experience in project management within construction
  • Demonstrated knowledge of construction, engineering, and/or architecture principles.
Communication

Skills:

  • Comfortable reading and understanding blueprints and drawings.
  • Ability to budget, schedule, negotiate, and control costs.
  • High degree of familiarity with contract and subcontract documents, terms, and conditions
  • Strong leadership and management skills
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Computer

Skills:

  • Proficient in Microsoft Office and general computer software.
