Summary / Objectives

This position is remote in FL, GA, AL, VA, NC, SC, TX, CO. It is the responsibility of the Consumer Loan Closer to ensure loans are closed timely and accurately, following Loan Policy and Internal Procedures. The Consumer Loan Closer works closely with the Lending staff, Closing Agents, and Dealers to ensure necessary due diligence is completed on consumer loan closing requests and prepares consumer loan closing documents using the document preparation system (Laser Pro).

Closing documents and accompanying documentation are delivered to a Closing Agent, Dealer, and/or Lender in accordance with the established department Service Level Agreements. The Consumer Loan Closer ensures loan closing documents are prepared in accordance with the loan approval as well as federal and state legal and compliance requirements.

  • Process Consumer loan closing requests, including, but not limited to, HELOCs and Modifications.
  • Review loan approval, supporting documentation, and Bank systems to determine that the appropriate due diligence has been completed prior to preparing loan closing documents. This review includes, but is not limited to: loan approval documents, determination of HMDA eligibility, flood determinations, title work, insurance documents, settlement statements/HUD/closing statements, closing disclosures, initial disclosures, titling information, purchase contracts, entity documentation, and appraisals.
  • Work closely with Lending staff, Closing Agents, and Dealers to address any documentation deficiencies or issues prior to scheduled loan closing, escalating issues to Loan Closing Management as necessary.
  • Prepare closing documents on the document preparation system (Laser Pro) and deliver closing documents and accompanying documentation to the Closing Agent, Dealer, and/or Lender. Review and approve settlement statements prepared by Settlement Agents.
  • Ensure department Service Level Agreements for loan closing requests are met in order to provide an exceptional level of service to customers.
  • Manage workload by monitoring newly received loan requests in the Loan Closing workflow and tracking work in process.

Qualifications and Education Requirements
  • High School Diploma.
  • One to three years of experience in consumer loan documentation; experience with real‑estate closing transactions is preferred.
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook. Knowledge of Laser Pro and Decision Pro is preferred.
Training Requirements / Classes

Required annual compliance training and additional relevant training identified by Management.

  • Supervisory Responsibility (not applicable to this position).
Physical Demands / Work Environment

Must be able to stand and/or sit for long periods of time. Must be able to effectively access and interpret information on computer screens, documents, and reports, and thrive in the fast‑paced environment of the Loan Closing Department.

Travel

This position does not require travel.

Salary

In accordance with Colorado law, pay for this position is anticipated to be between $42,408.00 and $67,743.00. Actual offers will be determined based on applicant’s skills, experience, and education.
