Position OverviewThe Human Resources Generalist supports the Operations Manager and leadership team in managing all HR and people operations functions. This role ensures our people, processes, and performance align with the firm’s goals and culture.
You’ll handle HR administration, recruiting, onboarding, payroll, benefits, and compliance — while fostering an engaging, coaching-based work environment.
Key Responsibilities- Assist with daily HR operations and support the Operations Manager.
- Process payroll, manage timecards, and oversee PTO requests.
- Administer employee benefits and support open enrollment.
- Ensure compliance with federal and state employment laws.
- Maintain and update HR policies, procedures, and employee records.
- Recruit, interview, and onboard new employees.
- Coordinate training, performance reviews, and coaching plans.
- Partner with leadership to build a positive, accountable culture.
- Support technology and process improvements in HR systems.
- Collaborate with external vendors for payroll, benefits, and IT support.
- Oversee global contractors
- 2+ years of Human Resources experience in a law firm (PI firm a big plus)
- Strong knowledge of payroll, benefits, and HR compliance
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Highly organized and detail-oriented with the ability to manage multiple priorities
- Proficient in HRIS/payroll software (Bamboo
HR, ADP or similar) - Bachelor’s degree in HR, Business, or related field preferred
- Must live locally and be able to work onsite
- Hard-working and dependable (believes “on time” means 5 minutes early)
- Honest, coachable, and motivated to grow
