Retail & Store Manager
Position Summary
The role focuses on leading and developing teams, driving customer experience, and achieving store operational and financial goals. The manager leads by teaching, training, and actively listening to associates, providing clear expectations, guidance, and feedback.
What you'll do• Chart the team to achieve successful customer experiences, applying the One Best Way (OBW) service model and managing Customer Service initiatives such as community outreach programs.
• Review and evaluate Profit & Loss statements, budgeting, forecasting, and controlling expenses to maintain high sales and profit goals.
• Manage and support merchandising, seasonal transitions, inventory flow and operational processes; develop action plans to mitigate shrink and ensure sales targets are met.
• Hire, train, mentor, and assign duties to hourly associates, provide recognition, build a sense of belonging and promote a workplace culture that embraces differences.
• Ensure compliance with company policies and support the Open Door Policy, maintaining ethical conduct and integrity across all business processes.
• Build strong relationships with stakeholders, communicate goals and objectives, track progress, identify improvements, and promote continuous learning and adaptability.
• Serve our customers and members by making decisions based on data, balancing short‑ and long‑term priorities, and adopting new technologies and skills to drive excellence.

• 2 years of college; or 1 year of retail experience plus 1 year of supervisory experience; or 2 years of general work experience and 1 year of supervisory experience.
• For facilities that sell firearms: successful completion of a firearms‑specific Criminal Background Check (CBC) and Firearms Authorized Training.
• For facilities that sell ammunition only: required current state‑issued Certificate of Eligibility.
• Completion of all job‑required trainings and assessments (e.g., Academy and Open Door trainings).
• Bachelor of Science in Business Management and Leadership, or equivalent credential through Live Better U or Bellevue University.
• General work experience supervising 5+ direct reports, including performance management, mentoring, hiring, and firing responsibilities.
