Regulatory Compliance Coordinator
Key Responsibilities:
- Understands and helps facilitate regulatory compliance relative to Joint Commission (JC) accreditation and certifications for the Hospital Division.
- Assists the Manager in facilitating compliance with all regulatory standards set forth by Joint Commission and Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS).
- Assists departmental leadership teams at each hospital ensuring compliance with regulatory agencies.
- Assures that facility administration and managers are knowledgeable about current standards, accreditation interpretations, and best practices for meeting the standards.
- Coordinates Joint Commission Tracers and Readiness Rounds and conducts audits and inspections to assess readiness.
- Participates in new team member training and annual Team Member Essentials pertaining to regulatory requirements.
- Promotes and educates staff to improve readiness and compliance.
- Supports Bay Care initiatives for regulatory standardization.
- Takes action to ensure that our hospitals are in a state of continuous survey readiness.
- As directed, assists with other assigned quality/regulatory activities.
- Collaborates with hospital Quality Managers to make improvements and resolve issues that prevent continued readiness.
- Acts as liaison for the facility with regulatory agencies, through communications with surveyors, consultants and provides regulatory support.
- Assists hospital Quality Managers when responding to inquiries and surveys on behalf of their Hospital.
- Performs other tasks to promote quality and compliance under the direction of the Manager.
- Serves as the expert in the use of regulatory software.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Required 1 year Regulatory and 3 years Nursing experience or 3 years of experience in a Clinical Specialty
- Required Associates Nursing or Diploma Registered Nurse;
Or Bachelors Clinical Related - Required RN (Registered Nurse) License;
Or Licensure or Certification in a related Clinical Specialty with a Bachelor's degree is acceptable in lieu of RN License
