Nurse Helper

Responsibilities

• Assist the nursing staff in the delivery of patient care according to Bay Care’s role‑specific responsibilities for a Nurse Helper I, directed by the RN.
• Assist with patient care while avoiding exposure to body fluids and devices that contain body fluids (e.g., blood, urine, stool, saliva, dirty linens, emesis, urinary catheters, nasogastric tubes, drains, etc.).

• Completion of Basic Life Support (BLS) certification within 30 days of hire.
• Completion of standard WELLE® training.
• Completion of the Nurse Helper training class prior to orientation on the nursing unit.
• High School graduate or equivalent GED (preferred).
