Registered Nurse (RN) Charge Nurse – Winter Haven, FL
A healthcare organization is seeking an experienced Registered Nurse (RN) Charge Nurse to join its Cardiac Surgical Unit. This role is responsible for providing high-quality, patient-centered care while leading and supporting nursing staff in a fast-paced acute care environment.
Responsibilities- Provide direct nursing care to patients within the cardiac surgical unit using the nursing process and established clinical standards
- Coordinate and oversee daily patient care activities and unit operations
- Serve as a clinical resource and professional role model for nursing team members
- Promote safe, effective, and evidence-based patient care practices
- Collaborate with physicians and interdisciplinary teams to coordinate and optimize patient care
- Delegate appropriate patient care activities and monitor quality of care delivery
- Assist with staff development, education, and onboarding initiatives
- Perform preceptor and charge nurse responsibilities as assigned
- Support communication and information sharing among team members
- Demonstrate leadership, professional accountability, and commitment to continuous improvement
- Graduate of an accredited School of Nursing
- Current Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state of practice
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
- Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) required
- Minimum of two years of Registered Nurse experience in an acute care setting
- Previous leadership or charge nurse experience preferred
- Nursing specialty certification preferred
- Strong leadership, communication, and critical thinking skills
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment
