The Underground Utility Pipe Mud Crew Member supports the installation of underground utility systems, including water, sewer, and storm drainage infrastructure. This position works as part of a pipe crew assisting with excavation, pipe installation, trenching, back filling, and site preparation activities. The ideal candidate has construction experience, a strong work ethic, understands job site safety, and is willing to work as part of a team to complete quality underground utility projects.

• Assist with the installation of underground utilities, including water, sewer, and storm drainage pipe systems.
• Perform tasks related to pipe laying, trenching, grading, and back filling operations.
• Assist pipe layers and operators with materials, tools, and job site preparation.
• Prepare trenches and work areas for pipe installation.
• Set, align, and support pipe installation activities as directed by the Foreman or Superintendent.
• Perform manual labor tasks including lifting, digging, shoveling, and moving materials.
• Follow safety procedures, OSHA standards, and company policies at all times.
• Maintain a clean and organized work area to promote a safe and efficient job site.
• Communicate effectively with crew members, equipment operators, and supervisors.
• Perform daily tasks with attention to quality, productivity, and teamwork.
• Assist with other construction duties as assigned.

Valid CDL license required.

Minimum 2 years of dump truck experience preferred.

Experience working in a construction environment preferred.

Ability to follow directions and work safely as part of a team.

Ability to lift and carry materials weighing up to 50 pounds.

Frequent sitting, standing, walking, bending, and reaching.

Ability to climb in and out of equipment and trucks safely.

Ability to perform routine vehicle inspections and job site tasks.

May require working outdoors for extended periods.

The work environment characteristics described below represent the conditions an employee may encounter while performing the essential functions of this position.

Primarily works on construction sites and roadways.

Exposure to outdoor weather conditions, dust, noise, and changing job site conditions.

Must follow all safety procedures and wear required personal protective equipment (PPE).

Typical working hours are 7:00 AM - 5:30 PM (40-50 hours per week), with occasional overtime as needed to meet project deadlines.
