Description
The Nursery Coordinator oversees the daily operation of the nursery, ensuring a safe, nurturing, and developmentally appropriate environment for young children. This role combines leadership, organization, and hands‑on childcare to support both children and nursery staff.
Our nursery provides engaging interaction and loving supervision in a safe, nurturing environment. Care is regularly offered on Sunday mornings (8:30 a.m.–12:30 p.m.) for children from birth to age five, as well as weekdays and evenings for children from birth through fifth grade.
Responsibilities- Coordinate day‑to‑day nursery operations and staff schedules, filling gaps as needed
- Oversee nursery operations on Sunday mornings by modeling hospitality, supporting workers, and troubleshooting needs as they arise (maintaining appropriate child‑to‑staff ratios, communicating with parents, etc.)
- Arrive before all nursery staff to unlock facilities and prepare spaces
- Oversee cleaning and secure lockup of facilities following each nursery shift
- Ensure registration and sign‑in/sign‑out procedures are completed and up to date; greet parents at drop‑off and pick‑up
- Float between childcare spaces to provide support as needed
- Communicate supply needs and assist with inventory management
- Train nursery workers on childcare policies and procedures
- Assist with onboarding and training of new staff or volunteers
- Develop and implement an appreciation program for nursery staff
This position requires Sunday morning availability, with occasional evening and holiday shifts.
Main LocationWinter Park Campus, with occasional events at our Reeves Campus.
Hours5‑10 hours per week.

- High school diploma or equivalent preferred, but not required.
- Strong verbal and interpersonal communication skills with the ability to build positive relationships and adapt messages in an audience‑appropriate manner.
- Previous experience or education in childcare or early childhood development.
- Ability to work effectively in an active environment with frequent interruptions and distractions.
- Ability to remain professional under pressure and resolve conflict in a Christ‑like manner.
- High level of discretion and emotional intelligence with the ability to handle sensitive information and maintain confidentiality.
- Skilled in technological applications and software, internet and mobile telecommunications programs.
- Ability to demonstrate high levels of tact and accountability in a dynamic, challenging setting.
- Proactive, progressive‑thinking and positive approach and attitude.
