Starting rate will be $17 - $30/hour depending on HUD SET experience. Job Title: Construction Set Crew Member
FLSA Status: Non‑exempt (Overtime Eligible)
Champion Home Builders is a leader in off‑site construction, offering customers solutions from single‑family homes to large‑scale commercial buildings all built in a controlled factory setting and then assembled onsite. Champion is seeking an experienced and reliable construction professional to join the team. The Construction Set Crew Member will participate in all aspects of the construction and assembly of manufactured housing and will report directly to a Construction Crew Lead.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities- Set (block and level) Manufactured Housing Units (HUD code homes both single and double‑wide).
- Structurally fasten the units.
- Complete the roof closure and shingling.
- Close up the exterior mate wall sheathing seams to provide a weather‑tight product.
- Complete interior trim out, finish work, install siding, and skirting.
- Maintain company tools and materials. Inform management of any issues that arise.
- Represent Champion Home Builders with a friendly attitude and professional demeanor.
- Ability to lift and carry a minimum of 40 lbs.
- Ability to stand and/or walk for the full duration of the workday.
- Must have clear vision at both close and distant ranges.
- Ability to hear clearly.
- Must be willing to travel, with occasional (5‑15%) overnight stays.
- Must be willing to work outside in all four seasons.
- Prior home Set experience is necessary.
- Knowledge of materials, methods, and tools involved in the construction or repair of houses or buildings.
- Ability to troubleshoot, reason, and solve problems.
- Ability to communicate in English, both written and verbal.
- Understand and execute instructions, work safety policies, and procedures.
- Must be available to work Monday through Saturday.
High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or six months to one year related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
