Job Summary:

The Associate Director of Career Advising & Internships leads career advising services and the College's internship programs. Primary responsibilities include career and internship advising, management of the Academic Internship Program and related course registration processes, career development training and workshops for the Center for Career and Life Planning (CCLP) staff and campus constituencies, support and guidance for students and faculty, and collaboration with employers to promote high-quality internship opportunities aligned with Rollins College Internship Posting Policies.

Working closely with students, faculty, administrators, employers, alumni, and community partners, the Associate Director advances career readiness by supporting the integration of career development into the academic experience and expanding access to high-impact internship opportunities.

Primary Responsibilities:
  • Career Advising & Student Engagement
    • Lead comprehensive career advising services for undergraduate students, graduate students, and alumni, guiding career exploration, internship and job search strategies, and graduate school planning.
    • Cultivate assigned Career Communities and serve as a liaison and resource for students, alumni, faculty, employers, and campus partners, creating connections and enhancing career exploration and engagement opportunities.
    • Design and facilitate career readiness programs, workshops, presentations, learning experiences, and career advising for all constituents.
    • Collaborate with faculty, staff, and campus partners to strengthen career education through classroom instruction, workshops, consultation, collaborative programming, and other initiatives that enhance student engagement across the Rollins experience.
    • Enhance the quality and effectiveness of career advising by evaluating and implementing career assessments, advising technologies, resources, and evidence-informed best practices, while staying current with emerging technologies, including AI, and their applications in career development and advising.
    • Provide training and mentorship to Graduate Assistants, Career Ambassadors, and other assigned student employees to promote consistent advising practices, effective use of career resources, exceptional customer service, and meaningful student engagement.
  • Academic Internship Programs
    • Lead the administration, assessment, and continuous improvement of the College's Academic Internship Programs, ensuring high-quality experiential learning opportunities aligned with institutional policies and academic objectives.
    • Administer the Academic Internship Program, including the Academic Internship Course, Canvas management, registration processes, faculty support, and administration of Academic Internship Program policies and procedures.
    • Manage funded internship programs by overseeing application and selection processes, promoting opportunities, and supporting equitable student access.
    • Serve as the primary resource for students with concerns related to internships or site supervisors, collaborating with faculty, employers, and campus partners to support student success and resolve issues.
    • Partner with Program Coordinator to promote Academic Internship Programs through strategic marketing and communications platforms while compiling program data to support assessment, storytelling, institutional reporting, and continuous improvement.
  • Employer & Community Partnerships
    • Collaborate with the Associate Director of Employer & Alumni Connections to cultivate internship partnerships through employer outreach, targeted site visits, and educational initiatives that strengthen employer engagement and expand experiential learning opportunities.
    • Develop and expand employer partnership pathways within high-impact and emerging industries, creating sustained opportunities for Rollins students to engage in meaningful, high-impact internships.
    • Administer the Rollins College Internship Posting Policies, ensuring consistent interpretation, implementation, and communication with internal and external stakeholders.
    • Review and evaluate internship opportunities submitted by employers to ensure alignment with the Rollins Internship Criteria
