Job Overview
Team members are classified based on individual theatre needs and/or employee availability as variable hour, part‑time fixed, part‑time regular, or full‑time hourly employees. Their primary responsibility is ensuring guests receive exceptional service. Team members may be scheduled to work in the Box Office, Concession Stand, or as an Usher and must act as a representative of Regal in a manner consistent with the company’s mission statement and policies.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities Box Office- Operate POS system, including accurate handling of cash, credit cards, travelers’ checks, gift cards, redeemed discount tickets, passes, and coupons.
- Up‑sell and suggest premium viewing experiences (3D, RPX, IMAX).
- Promote the Regal Crown Club program.
- Ensure tickets are sold in accordance with the MPAA rating system and company policy.
- Respond to phone calls and guest questions in a manner consistent with the guest service philosophy.
- Operate POS system and maintain accuracy of cash drawer, credit cards, travelers’ checks, gift cards, and redeemed coupons, while managing concession stock inventory.
- Promote the Regal Crown Club program.
- Operate, prepare, and clean all concession‑related equipment.
- Up‑sell and suggest sales.
- Comply with all local, state, and federal food safety laws.
- Abide by all federal and state laws regarding breaks and meal periods.
- Maintain current alcohol certification and training where applicable.
- When selling or serving alcohol, be of legal age according to state or local laws.
- Read and understand training materials covering sexual harassment and discrimination.
- Tear tickets, collect and deposit appropriate stubs, and direct patrons to their auditoriums.
- Inspect backpacks and packages when applicable.
- Manage crowd control and assist guests in finding seats in auditoriums when necessary.
- Enforce the MPAA rating system.
- Conduct in‑theatre inspections to monitor picture and sound quality, watch for film and content theft, and help maintain a safe environment.
- Report any problems, discrepancies, or unusual situations to management.
- Perform in‑auditorium concession auxiliary sales as directed by management.
- Clean auditoriums at the end of scheduled shows and maintain clean restrooms, lobby area, hallways, and other areas outside the auditorium.
- Monitor the cleanliness and operation of theatre vending equipment.
- Assist with all opening and closing duties as assigned by management.
- Education/
Experience:
Completion of the cast certification program as a cast member and as box office cashier, or progress toward completion. - Language Ability: Good public speaking, effective listening, and clear, direct response skills.
- Math Ability: Perform calculations with speed and accuracy, identify and correct errors.
- Reasoning Ability: Identify problems, gather relevant data, evaluate alternatives, and take decisive action under pressure.
- Personal
Skills:
Excellent communication skills with customers, co‑workers, and management; ability to set goals, budget time, and prioritize to achieve objectives. - Physical Demands: The role requires frequent standing, walking, sitting, hand use, reaching, talking, hearing, occasional climbing, balancing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, or crawling. The employee may occasionally lift up to 60 pounds. Vision requirements include close, distance, peripheral, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.
