Job Description

Maintenance Technician – Winter Haven, FL

1st Shift

Hours:

Monday-Friday 8:00am‑5:00pm, overtime as needed. Starting Wage: $26/hour plus.

Responsibilities
  • Assist and/or perform all tasks required as detailed in the Preventative Maintenance Plan.
  • Visually inspect equipment parts for damage and proper cleaning.
  • Clean, lubricate shafts, bearings, gears, and other parts of the machinery.
  • Assist other maintenance personnel with dismantling defective machines and equipment, and assist with installation of new or repaired parts.
  • Perform maintenance and repair activities within set budgets for each area and monitor operator conformance to established operating conditions.
  • Provide encapsulation equipment training to new and current machine operators.
  • Schedule and ensure all preventative maintenance requirements are completed fully as detailed in the Preventative Maintenance Plan.
  • Assist in maintaining the appropriate levels of spare parts in stock to minimize downtime.
  • Work with Production Planning to schedule all preventative maintenance work while minimizing downtime.
  • Prioritize workload and perform repairs in a timely manner to minimize production downtime.
  • Adhere to company rules and safe work practices throughout each department.
  • Keep work area clean and organized.
  • Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications

Minimum Education: High School diploma or GED.

Experience: Minimum 4 years in a manufacturing environment; preferred technical degree and/or equivalent experience. Previous experience in a GMP manufacturing environment desirable.

Skills and Knowledge
  • Experience working in industrial/commercial environments.
  • Experience working in hazardous environments.
  • Ability to interpret P& schematics.
  • Experience and knowledge of pneumatic systems.
  • Working knowledge of diaphragm pumps, centrifugal pumps, valves, and actuators.
  • Great problem‑solving skills, with the ability to troubleshoot, diagnose and carry out mechanical repairs on motors, pumps, valves.
  • Ability to understand, work with and contribute to the creation of risk assessments.
  • Good understanding of maintenance of manufacturing equipment.
  • Responsibility for coordinating contractor works conducted in compliance with Health & Safety.
  • Demonstrate a working knowledge of Microsoft Office programs (Word and Excel).
  • Aptitude and willingness for continued training and development.
  • Must be skilled in electrical 120v to 480v and control voltage 24v.
  • Skilled in maintenance and repair of mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, and hydraulic processing equipment.
Compensation

$26.00/hour plus.
