Schedule and Shift: Full-time, Three (3) 12-hour shifts
Shift Timing: Days, 7:00 am – 7:00 pm (with weekend rotation)
Location: Advent Health Winter Park, 200 N Lakemont Avenue, Winter Park, FL 32792
Unit HighlightsThe Surgical PCU is a 20‑bed private unit caring for a wide array of medical and surgical high‑acuity patients.
The unit includes state‑of‑the‑art equipment and is equipped with ARJO/ceiling lifts, bike, and ocular – including in our bariatric suites.
Be a part of a strong, multi‑disciplinary team with on‑site Intensivist coverage 24 hours a day, 7 days a week! Our team of highly engaged nurses with dedicated preceptors love to teach eager new nurses.
We believe in teamwork and are a cohesive team consisting multiple disciplines. All who work together to create an environment where comprehensive whole‑body health care is provided to all patients and families. You will be an active member of this amazing multifaceted team.
The value you’ll bring to the team- Conduct comprehensive assessments to evaluate the physiological, psychological, developmental, sociocultural, spiritual, and lifestyle factors of patients.
- Develop and implement individualized care plans based on patient needs and standards of care, regularly evaluating and revising these plans as necessary.
- Administer medications and treatments accurately and safely, following physician orders and hospital protocols, and monitor for adverse reactions.
- Educate patients and families about health conditions, treatments, medications, and self‑care strategies to promote understanding and compliance.
- Collaborate with medical staff and ancillary departments to coordinate and optimize patient care, ensuring effective communication and teamwork.
- Organizational and multi‑tasking skills
- Knowledge of nursing care methods and procedures
- Ability to work as a team player within a unit
- Effective verbal and oral communication and problem‑solving skills
- EKG (based on patient; see document EKG and Advanced Life Support Requirements)
- Fluent in English (read, verbal and written skills)
- Basic computer skills – navigation of Microsoft Windows‑based programs
- Ability to use a high level of abstract reasoning to assess patient, evaluate interventions, and revise plan of care according to patient outcomes
- Associate's of Nursing [Required]
- Bachelor's of Nursing [Preferred]

- 1+ acute care hospital setting [Preferred]

Physical Requirements –
Pay Range$31.53 – $52.24
