Unit Highlights
  • The PCU Observation Short Stay Unit is a 10‑bed observation unit that acts as a bridge between the ED and inpatient setting.
  • The average patient stays on the unit for 24 hours or less; patients either discharge from the hospital or transfer to an inpatient unit. Our primary focus is on throughput, patient flow and enhancing the patient experience.
  • The RN will be responsible for caring for patients up to a PCU Tele level with varied disease processes including chest pain, stroke, pneumonia, heart failure, renal disease and more.
  • This is a fast‑paced PCU observation environment for the energetic and ambitious healthcare provider.
  • We believe in teamwork and are a cohesive team consisting of multiple disciplines. All who work together create an environment where comprehensive whole‑body health care is provided to all patients and families. You will be an active member of this amazing multifaceted team.
  • Conduct comprehensive assessments to evaluate the physiological, psychological, developmental, sociocultural, spiritual, and lifestyle factors of patients. Develop and implement individualized care plans based on patient needs and standards of care, regularly evaluating and revising these plans as necessary. Administer medications and treatments accurately and safely, following physician orders and hospital protocols, and monitor for adverse reactions. Educate patients and families about health conditions, treatments, medications, and self‑care strategies to promote understanding and compliance.

    Collaborate with medical staff and ancillary departments to coordinate and optimize patient care, ensuring effective communication and teamwork.
Education
  • Associate's of Nursing (Required)
  • Bachelor's of Nursing (Preferred)
Work Experience
  • 1+ acute care hospital setting (Preferred)
Licenses and Certifications
  • Registered Nurse (RN) (Required)
  • Basic Life Support – CPR Cert (BLS) (Required); ACLS also required

$31.53 – $52.24
