Resident Wellness Director - (LPN/RN)

Full Time – Winter Park, FL, US

Now Hiring! Watercrest Winter Park is hiring a Resident Wellness Director/Director of Nursing (LPN) to join their team. The perfect fit for this role would be a strong, knowledgeable individual skilled in effective servant leadership principles, provision of care practices, resident rights, and Florida regulations. We are looking for a great team player, listener, and communicator who can partner and lead effectively our associates, residents, families, and guests.

* Must be able to be available on call, evenings, and weekends when needed.

Essentials Job Functions
  • Servant Leadership directs all aspects of decision making.
  • Conduct resident evaluations promptly and in accordance with state regulations and policy.
  • Oversee all medication processes—orders, administration, storage, documentation—and ensure compliance with state regulations and company policy.
  • Ensure medications are placed on the medication order register (MOR) promptly.
  • Review compliance for residents who self‑administer medications as required.
  • Verify all resident care specialists are familiar with resident conditions and trained to deliver services professionally and sensitively.
  • Monitor resident wellness care compliance with state and federal regulations.
  • Maintain vital statistics as required.
  • Recommend quality improvement, infection control, and department enhancements.
  • Schedule and follow up on in‑house ancillary services (e.g., x‑rays, podiatry, dental, eye care, psychiatry).
  • Review daily charting by licensed staff.
  • Maintain and monitor care plans for all residents.
  • Conduct training sessions, on‑the‑job training, and orientation for all associates.
  • Review direct‑report associate time punches in the payroll system as needed.
  • Process bi‑weekly payroll for department associates.
  • Participate in recruitment and selection of wellness associates.
  • Respond promptly to requests from residents, families, and guests.
  • Complete and monitor incident and accident reports.
  • Participate in meetings with third‑party providers regularly.
  • Ensure limited nursing services are completed and documented according to state regulations.
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
  • Effective communication with all levels of management, team members, residents, families, guests, vendors, referral sources, and outside contacts.
  • Revenue and expense budget management.
  • Independent decision‑making.
  • Warm, friendly, and caring communication style.
  • Familiarity with Fair Housing Act and Americans with Disabilities Act guidelines.
  • Passion for working with and around senior citizens.
Education Requirements
  • High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) or Registered Nurse (RN).
Experience Requirements
  • Minimum of two (2) years in senior living, assisted living, or memory care environment.
  • Strong leadership experience with at least two (2) years supervising and managing staff.
Physical Requirements
  • Able to stand or walk approximately 75% of the day.
  • Able to concentrate amidst frequent interruptions.
  • Able to work under stress and in emergency situations.
  • Able to perform tasks requiring sitting, standing, walking, reaching, pulling, pushing, and grasping.
  • Able to talk and hear effectively to convey instructions and information.
  • Occasional lifting/carrying of up to 50 pounds.
Occupational Exposure / Personal Protective Equipment
  • Work in all areas of the community.
  • Potential exposure to dust, disinfectants, cleaning chemicals, infectious waste, diseases, and other conditions.
  • Use personal protective equipment (PPE) as needed to prevent burns, falls, and infection.
  • Personal protective equipment includes infection control kit, rubber gloves, and non‑slip shoes.
  • Follow safety policy and procedures.
