Advent Health Medical Group Plastics and Reconstructive Surgery at Winter Park offers a full‑time opportunity for an Advanced Registered Nurse Practitioner (APRN) or Physician Assistant (PA‑C).

General Summary
  • The APRN/PA‑C, under the supervision of the Physician, who acts as the collaborative practitioner, is responsible for
  • Performs physical examinations of surgical patients including new patient visits, established/follow‑up visits, pre & post‑operative care.
  • Operates within the scope of practice.
  • Hospital rounding, patient education, discharge summaries.
  • Responsibilities in clinic include but are not limited to: management and closure of complex lacerations, wound care/dressing changes, debridement, suture removal, etc.
  • Orders and interprets appropriate diagnostic tests, such as routine laboratory, X‑ray, and other related imaging.
  • Monitors the patient’s course of treatment and makes appropriate referrals to either a physician or specialist as needed.
  • Collaborates with physician and staff as necessary to provide consistent care to patients and support to staff.
  • Displays a caring and professional attitude at all times and maintains personal and professional growth.
  • Evaluates cardiac, renal, vascular, dermatologic, and GI systems, particularly as they relate to body edema.
  • Has an interest in lymphatic care – training will be provided.
Schedule Details
  • Monday – Friday, 8:00 am – 5:00 pm, outpatient.
  • Main location:
    Advent Health Winter Park.
Knowledge and Skills Required
  • Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with physicians, staff, and patients.
  • Strong communication skills.
  • Strong medical decision‑making skills.
Required Education & Experience
  • Master’s degree in Nursing or Physician Assistant studies.
  • Surgical experience (preferred).
  • Minimum five years of experience practicing as an APRN or PA‑C in plastic surgery.
  • Bilingual in Spanish preferred, but not required.
Licensure, Certification, Registration
  • Current, valid Florida PA or APRN license.
  • Current, valid DEA license.
  • Certification by NCCPA, ANCC or another nationally recognized certification organization.
  • BLS & ACLS.
