OverviewFull‑time Opportunity for an Advanced Registered Nurse Practitioner (APRN) or Physician Assistant (PA-C) in the Plastics and Reconstructive Surgery practice at Winter Park.
General Summary (Responsibilities)- Under the supervision of the Physician acting as the collaborative practitioner, the APRN/PA‑C is responsible for performing physical examinations of surgical patients including: new patient visits, established/follow‑up visits, and pre & post‑operative care.
- Assist allowed within scope of practice.
- Hospital rounding, patient education, and discharge summaries.
- In the clinic: manage and close complex lacerations, wound care/dressing changes, debridement, and suture removal.
- Order and interpret diagnostic tests such as routine laboratory tests, X‑rays, and related imaging.
- Monitor the patient’s course of treatment and make appropriate referrals to physicians or specialists as needed.
- Collaborate with physicians and staff as necessary to provide consistent care to patients and support to staff.
- Maintain a caring and professional attitude at all times, including personal and professional growth.
- Evaluate cardiac, renal, vascular, dermatologic, and GI systems, particularly as they relate to body edema.
- Monday – Friday; 8:00 am – 5:00 pm in the outpatient setting.

- Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with physicians, staff, and patients.
- Strong communication skills.
- Strong medical decision‑making skills.
- Master’s degree in Nursing or Physician Assistant studies.
- Surgical experience (preferred).
- Minimum 0–2 years of experience practicing as an APRN or PA‑C in plastic surgery.
- Bilingual in Spanish preferred but not required.
- Current, valid Florida PA or APRN license.
- Current, valid DEA license.
- Certification by NCCPA, ANCC, or other nationally recognized certification organization.
- BLS & ACLS.
